Skills for Youth Success (SYS)

In partnership with United Way of Greater Toronto, Skills for Youth Success (SYS) is an innovative pre-employment program designed to teach youth ages 15-29 how to market themselves in today’s digital world.  Through step-by-step instruction, youth in this program learn how to build professional digital profiles, create new-media based resumes, develop networking skills and explore careers through our career networking events.

SYS offers 4 highly engaging, results driven activities:

  1. Pre-employment Workshops

Offered in partnership with youth employment agencies, SYS provides hands-on workshops teaching youth digital self-marketing strategies & how to create asset-based digital resumes.

  1. School-Based Programming

Partnering with local high schools, SYS incorporates the principles of creative self-marketing into existing school curriculum.

  1. Networking Workshop & Events

To assist youth develop their social capital, explore career opportunities, and facilitate employment mentorship, SYS offers both pre-networking workshops & youth networking events.

  1. NextGen Resumes MOOC

To make the program accessible, SYS provides a step-by-step, video based, self-directed online course focused on teaching youth how to create a compelling multi-dimensional online presence regardless of their educational or work background.
