Youth Employment Skills Strategy

Our Youth Employment Skills Strategy (YESS) Program equips young people with the tools and connections needed to find a placement in their chosen field. You’ll start off by taking part in pre-employment workshops, which cover topics like job searching tactics, optimizing your LinkedIn profile, cold calling, accessing the hidden job market, resume and cover letter writing and interview techniques. These take place one-to-one, as part of a group session or on Zoom.

After taking part in these workshops, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a program worker who can help you find employment opportunities. We’ll make the most of our connections with employers to give you a great start on your career journey.

We have three program workers who speak various languages, including Ukrainian, French, Spanish, English and Urdu.
