Toronto, ON – Often referred to as “the fourth industrial revolution,” the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping society and industries worldwide. To help prepare underrepresented communities for the opportunities and challenges this new era brings, CultureLink is proud to announce an upcoming program offering education in the creative and responsible use of AI for Black and Indigenous youth.
With support from the Vector Institute, a globally-renowned AI research Institute, participants in this initiative will gain free access to AI-focused online courses through Coursera, with the potential to earn a Google certificate at no cost upon completion. CultureLink will provide one-on-one support, employment workshops, and other resources to ensure participants build the skills needed to thrive in the evolving job market.
CultureLink is a settlement and community services organization with over 35 years of experience assisting newcomers to Canada, and will deliver this program on-site at partner schools starting in February 2025.
“This initiative reflects CultureLink’s commitment to empowering youth from underrepresented communities by equipping them with the tools to succeed in a rapidly changing world,” said Kristin Schwartz, Senior Manager of Programs and Services.
