CultureLink invited newcomer engineers to its popular Hit Restart for Engineers workshops. The aim of the program is to help our newcomer engineers become ready for job searches to showcase their talents and successfully navigate the hiring process.
This program was run by our staff person, Eman El Atawy, and an amazing group of volunteers. Helen Latimer, who led the workshop, has been volunteering with CultureLink for many years. She makes a huge difference by motivating and supporting our newcomers, and puts much time and effort into our Hit Restart for Engineers program. As she says, “Sometimes a different way of looking at a situation can be the spark that leads to something wonderful.”
At the end of the program the newcomers attended a speed-mentoring event hosted by Blackwell LTD, a company that provides structural engineering services. Ten of the company staff including the two executive directors met with them.
In a joint email sent later, the newcomers expressed their gratitude and how their visions, goals and expectations changed as a result of the event.
