The Syrian Men’s Mentorship Circle attended the Peggy Baker dance show, Split Screen. Many of the men had never been to a dance show before and found the experience to be interesting. Walid Sarjin catered the event and The Theatre Centre was so impressed by his cooking, they asked him to come back to prepare the July Community Meal for the Centre. Thanks to Dareen Fatimah, who runs the circle, for all her great work on the project.
On another front, with the monies raised from the fundraising campaign, Lilas Mardeni, one of our clients was hired as a cafe assistant at the Theatre Centre. She will work for three months on the project at which time another Syrian will be hired for an additional three months. These funds also enabled Ahmad Almohamad, one of our clients to work at the Centre in administration and accounting. Thanks to Theatre Centre for their unwavering interest and support.
